Eric Norris - No Stranger at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a favorite venue for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Eric Norris. From clinching his 2002 Nascar Grand National West Series Championship to earning 4 Top 10 finishes, Las Vegas has been the site of many big moments in Norris’ racing career. While Norris has a lot of experience at Las Vegas in the NASCAR Busch and West series, Saturday will mark his Craftsman Truck Series debut at the 1.5-mile track. “It sounds kind of strange that I’ve never raced here before in a truck,” says Norris. “However there is little difference between the West cars and the trucks.” Norris and the #07 Pavestone team are anticipating a strong performance. “We were good at both Texas and Kentucky,” Norris says. “At Kentucky, I was able to pass some really good trucks, so I feel that a lot of what we did there will translate to Las Vegas.”
Norris’ past success coupled with Green Light Racing’s leadership and determination makes everyone feel confident. “We’re going to be one of the teams the fans will have their eye on Saturday night,” says Norris. Our Sponsor,

Pavestone, has a lot of guests attending this race and we’re going to put on a good show for them.” Green Light Racing team owner Gene Christensen shares the confidence. "Eric is a terrific driver for us," says Christensen. “It's great to have him as part of our family and I’m excited about Saturday night.
A number of positive signs point towards a big night in Vegas. ”I absolutely love the truck that we’re bringing to Las Vegas,” says Norris. In addition, he is reuniting his 2002 West Series championship crew for over the wall duties. “The last time we were together, we were here in Las Vegas lifting trophies and drinking champagne,” reminisces Norris. “It’s going to be really exciting to work with them again.”
As the team readies itself for their effort in Las Vegas, Eric understands the challenge of racing in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series. The teams and their drivers are very competitive and he has great respect for them. He knows that Saturday's race in Las Vegas won’t be a walk in the park. “This series has grown by leaps and bounds in that department,” says Norris. “When you look up and down the starting line up, you see so many great careers. It’s an honor and a challenge to compete in this series.”
