Norris Qualifies 12th for the “Chex 400” at Texas Motor Speedway

Eric Norris, driver of the #07 Pavestone Chevrolet, posted his career best qualifying lap in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event today at Texas Motor Speedway. Norris’ lap of 29.860 seconds, 180.844 Mph places him 12th on the grid for tomorrow’s running of the Chex 400K.

“We’re really happy with our qualifying run,” said Norris. “We picked up a lot from practice, at least half a second.” Norris believes that a good starting position is important in tomorrow’s 167 lap event. “I really like starting close to the front, because it can keep you ahead of some of those skirmishes that always seem to happen in the back,” he says. “The key to getting a good finish here is to stay in one piece and race hard the last 50 laps.”

Norris and Dallas, TX based Pavestone Company have teamed up to run a limited schedule in 2005. “I’m really excited our success today. Pavestone has a lot of fans here in the Dallas area and we want to give them all something to cheer about.” Norris, the 2002 NASCAR Grand National West Series Champion, is making his seventh Craftsman Truck Series start at Texas Motor Speedway.
